Veggie RX

In a world increasingly aware of climate change, it’s important to recognize how our daily choices, including the food we eat, impact the planet.

The Veggie Rx Project is an initiative of Urban Tilth, in partnership with LifeLong Medical Care operating under the Richmond Rising Coalition. Richmond Rising is a network of organizations dedicated to serving the Richmond community, funded by the California Strategic Growth Council’s Transformative Climate Communities (TCC) Program.

This program focuses on helping communities heavily affected by pollution by supporting efforts to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and local air pollution.

At Urban Tilth, we’re committed to making healthy, fresh produce accessible to everyone. Through our two Veggie Rx programs, we offer free weekly deliveries of locally, sustainably grown produce to eligible residents in Richmond and eligible patients of LifeLong Medical Center.

Transformative Climate Communities (TCC) Produce Bags support environmental justice and community resilience by providing free produce to residents in Richmond's Iron Triangle, Coronado, and Santa Fe neighborhoods. At the same time, our CalAIM Medically Tailored Meals program offers free produce to patients at LifeLong Medical Center with chronic health conditions, as part of California MediCal’s CalAIM initiative to improve health outcomes in the state.
